John Mayer “Vultures” from evan gill on Vimeo.

If I can flip the script a little bit on you for one second… I would like to give a shout out to my man John Mayer. You see I get down with a very broad range of guitarist, Eric Johnson, Mr. Carlos Santana, Ratatat, and my boy Chris Letchford from Scale The Summit… to only name a few. But John Mayer is by far the grooviest guitarist I have on that play-list. RESPECT

Kevin Jack & Drastik – Circus Mirrors

April 14th, 2010. Posted by: 2wentyWon

If you’re not yet up on Kevin Jack and Drastik you should be ashamed of yourself. No really, you should. These two are steady “buzzing like the pizza man” and that buzz is only getting bigger. Just coming off the LRG Home Grown tour with Curren$y, Pac Div and XV, their collaborative mixtape, Circus Mirrors, has quickly garnered over 5k downloads. Featuring production by Big Gigantic and Ratatat, thisĀ 7 track EP is unlike anything I’ve heard before. No wonder they have been doing shows with the Clipse, Wale, J Cole, Wiz Khalifa, … do I need to continue this list? Didn’t think so. Just go download it and turn up your speakers!

Notable tracks: “Party With You”, “I’m Nobody”

Kid Cudi – Man on the Moon: The End of Day

September 14th, 2009. Posted by: 2wentyWon

The long awaited debut album from Freshman, Kid Cudi, is finally here. I honestly did not expect too much from Kid Cudi after hearing “Day ‘n’ Nite” early last year. But that all changed when he dropped “Make Her Say” with Common and the now fairly despised Kanye. Cudi is proving that he has what it takes to be a commercially successful artist while still delivering great lyrical content. Man on the Moon is an amazing laid back sonic journey narrated by Common featuring the sounds of alternative hip-hop, electronica, and even trip-hop. This space trip features production by Emile, Kanye, and electronic music duo Ratatat. Definitely one of the best albums of the year.

Notable Tracks: “Solo Dolo”, “Heart of a Lion”, “Hyyerr”.

“If you can’t do what you imagine, then what is imagination to you?”
