I’m at a lost for words with this record right here. This is the second track from Kanye and Jay-Z’s upcoming EP together Watch the Throne,  and it is by far the best I’ve heard from Ye in a while. Teaming up with Rozay, Nicki Minaj (who actually really goes in for once), Bon Iver, and Charlie Wilson singing some backup, Kanye and Jay have come up with a monster of a record.

After “Power Remix” and this, I’m sure this EP is gonna be a banger.

If you’re in Austin you’ll definitely want to be at Sole Fresco next Friday September 3rd. Mr. Watermelon Sundae himself will be down on 6th Street for an in-store meet & greet right before his show at Republic Live that night. The meet & greet starts at 5 p.m. and will go on until 7 p.m. DJ Drew Byrd will be on the 1′s & 2′s, and Dom himself is going to give everyone in attendance a little taste of what’s in store for the night.

The Friday night show is presented to you by The Smoking Section, and the buzz around it is building it to be the best show yet this fall. You know its going to be a good show when artist such as Killa Kyleon, Drastik of Home Team Records, and Hollywood Floss (just to name a few) are on the under card. I’m expecting a packed house and GOOD music all night long. Be there and be FRESH…

In addition to the work I do with 2wentyWon, ThaBlackZackMorris and Tuk for GetFreshKid, I also host The Marcus and Tayo Show, Austin’s radio home for fresh, REAL Hip Hop on KVRX Austin 91.7 FM. This Saturday is our first show at our new time from 11 PM – 1 AM Central, every Saturday night. In honor of the occasion, we’ll be having Killa Kyleon, Drastik, and Hollywood FLOSS as guests on the show a week ahead of their concert with Dom Kennedy in Austin on Sept. 3rd. In addition, we’ll have appearances from Austin MCs KoolQuise and Kulcha Yclypse, not to mention the best and freshest hip hop in the country spinning on the airwaves. If that’s not enough, Tayo and I will be hosting this week’s edition of KVRX’s Artist Hour program from 10 – 11 PM this Saturday night profiling the homie Dom Kennedy with DJ DC spinning an hour of the Leimert Park MC’s best tracks. The debut mixtape from Houston duo Danny Watts and My’Key Iso, better known as Surfside Union. If you’re a Pitchfork reader, just looking at the names of the artist and the mixtape, you could easily mistake this as a project from another chillwave band. And while there is definitely an influence of chillwave on this group’s joints (they even go in on the instrumental of Washed Out’s "Feel It All Around"), there’s no doubt that these dudes can spit. Ill rhymes combined with smooth beats and a chillwave aesthetic makes this a unique tape that’s worth multiple spins. Looking forward to more from them after this jawn. DL at the jump.

Can’t get enough of music? Music software pioneers Propellerheads are touting their DDR-like dance pad as the world’s biggest drum machine, which might actually be true, considering that it’s projected on the tall Stockholm skyscraper.
