Every Wednesday night in Austin, TX, downtown on the corner of 6th and Neches at Mi Casa, my boys Drastik and DJ DC get together and throw a small event called New Classic Wednesday’s. With $2 drinks going all night long and GOOD music jamming in your ear, New Classics is a laid back environment where everyone that enjoys GOOD Hip-Hop can come chill. Not really for the radio heads if you know what I mean. Every week there is something new at New Classics. There could be LIVE performances one week, a special guest DJ the next. They sometimes hold Poetry Slam’s as well. Which leads me to the me topic at hand.
One Wednesday night a few weeks ago, courtesy of Score Moore’s Erika E. Harlow, Brently Caballero and Marzai Sadler from Team Neo Soul came through and SET… IT… OFF… simply smashed it. They impressed everyone so much that we got together and decide that New Classics needed to have a Neo Soul night. So with that said, tonight the doors to Mi Casa will open at its scheduled 11:00 p.m. But tonight will be New Classic Wednesday’s :: Neo Soul Edition. Please be ready to hear artist speak to your soul through poetry. GFK…Stay Fresh.
