Works 4 Me

Emprego Godd The Twelve,In 07, one of my friends put me on to this band. I thought they were just another copy cat of the “french touch” or making the typical wonna be and repetitive daft punk like music that would only attract the biggest of forever21/Urban outfitter douche hipster but. I am happy to say they proved me wrong. What set’s this Brazilian duo “The Twelve” apart are not the mix/remix that most dj’s do, but the style they give which reflects a mix of Latin and Afrocentric melody in tracks like Black Kids-boyfriend/M.I.A. – Boys, but also the fact they make original mix with out sample tracks.

funciona para mim

LA Lights are Back!

December 25th, 2009. Posted by: 2wentyWon

LA Gear Lights

If you grew up in the late 80′s and early 90′s there is no way you will ever forget the iconic shoe brands British Knights and LA Gear. By the mid 90′s both of these shoe companies had nearly fallen off the map with LA Gear even filing for Chapter 11 in 1998. In 2008, these “80′s baby” favorites started their comeback with BK re-releasing the Leader, Ultra, and Kings SL designs and LA Gear re-releasing the majority of their Unstoppable line.

Now my favorite pair of sneaks when I was a rambunctious little kid at Brandenburg Elementary School were my LA Lights. They definitely caught the attention of the girls playing Patty-Cake at recess. And now LA Gear has decided to relaunch their most notable line to-date, LA Gear Lights. Pick yourself up a pair at SportieLA.com and start lighting up the sidewalk. You will not regret your purchase.

Sade – “Soldier of Love”

December 24th, 2009. Posted by: 2wentyWon

When I started producing, the first record I ever sampled for a beat was Sade’s “Jezebel”. Due to this fact I have always had an affection towards Sade’s music. Now after nearly 10 years without a new record, she’s back (better than ever?). Her newest single, “Soldier of Love” from her album of the same name, is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is serene yet chaotic, like two hearts battling, like soldiers of love (I don’t know if that made any sense, deal with it).
Check it out.

The Balcony

December 16th, 2009. Posted by: 2wentyWon

Call me Picasso, I’m doing it a little differently

Not Ricky Ross, but I’m pushing on these frequencies

Eat it up. I see it. The world’s what’s coming to me.

Take it in. I’m supposed to be.

Some dreams stay dreams, some dreams come true.

While these fools sleep on me, I’m working harder than you

Fall off? That’s something I’ll never do

I’m like a Kenyan running laps in my Nike shoes

I’m moving moving, what I have got you choosing

Still climbing up. On platforms I’m cruising

Take it down a notch, cus up hear it’s hard to breathe

Reaching for that fruit of life, yea, it’s worth a squeeze

‘Say hello to my friend’ cocked with two hands

I’m on the balcony searching for a new plan

I’ma take this leap of faith and give it my all

This could be the end, or the start of it all

Lil Wayne – “Drop the World” feat. Eminem

December 15th, 2009. Posted by: 2wentyWon

So, I was definitely one of the skeptics when it came to Weezy’s rock album, Rebirth. But from the tracks that I’ve heard so far (sans “Prom Queen”), I’ve been fairly impressed.

Check out “Drop the World” featuring the almighty Marshall Mathers produced by Boi-1da (“Forever”, “Best I Ever Had”, “Replacement Girl”)

The Squirrel

December 14th, 2009. Posted by: 2wentyWon

I woke up real late this morning without a functioning brain. I turned on some Bjork and just sat in my room zoned out. Outside of my second story window a squirrel playing in a tree caught my attention. For the next hour I watched it scurry around the branches without a care in the world and no responsibilities all to a soundtrack of Homogenic.

He already had his food stored up for the spring, so that was not a burden. It’s not mating season, so that was not a burden. He had a daily 24 hours of freedom; this was a burden. If only I could live as care free as the squirrel. No school, no jobs, no females. Just me, my mind, and time.

It all ended when 5 black birds swooped in and attacked the squirrel. Why? Revelation. From high on a branch it fell about 30 feet to the ground. It didn’t move.

I looked back up to the tree. It’s as if the squirrel was never there.

“I’ll be brand new, brand new tomorrow. A little bit tired, but brand new”
